Well, it's been a busy spring here at Willow & Nutmeg. It all started with our wonderful photoshoot in early March. If you follow us on social media or come to the Camberley boutique you will have seen lots of the photos. Ash, from AYG Creatives, did an amazing job controlling us and getting us to relax in front of the camera. As you know, Willow & Nutmeg is all about real women and for that reason all the beautiful models were clients. We were a range of ages and sizes which meant that we were able to show how different shapes etc can look in the same products. Sadly the weather didn't get the memo about it being a spring/summer shoot but the venue (South Hill Park, Bracknell) was stunning both inside and out, so all was good. We're planning to do another one in the autumn, so practice your poses ladies, you could be Willow & Nutmeg's next top model!
We've had another Fizz & shopping evening which was fun. Thank you to everyone who attended. I was invited to speak at a local Rotary Club branch about Willow & Nutmeg's journey. I'm not the most comfortable doing things like this on the whole, but it was a lovely evening and they made me feel very welcome. You'd have to ask them how I did, but I didn't get booed so I see that as positive! The community art project that we hosted with the artist Pen'Ny was wonderful. She painted the bulk of the canvas and over two days members of the public came an added their stroke. The event brought out so much emotion in people, it was amazing. Once people got over their fear of 'messing up the painting' they loved it. We had people ranging from toddlers in buggies to senior citizens take part. The painting remained in store for a few weeks and is now homed at the Disability Initiative here in Camberley. Willow & Nutmeg were also invited to a Menopause Mayhem evening at a local beauty salon where we met some lovely ladies and picked up some great tips for getting through 'the change'. We've been nominated for a Muddy Stiletto Award by you, our amazing clients, so thank you. We'll let you know how we get on.
Willow & Nutmeg like to support small independent businesses like ourselves and are lucky enough to now have several in store and more to come. Sarah Bee Crafts, Lisa Davies Illustrator and Annette Cox are a few recent additions. We were introduced to Sarah and Annette through the brilliant Helen Lewis of Anytime Artisan and will be hosting even more of her talented creators very soon.
As you can see we have been very busy which is wonderful and guess what? There's even more to come over the next few months. We've got the Platinum Jubilee just around the corner and Chole was the lucky winner of kimono in our Jubilee Giveaway this week. Then it's Father's Day, we've even got that covered with some great gifts available in store and at www.willowandnutmeg.com. Early summer will mean lots of planning for the new collections and there will even be some fashion shows! Oh, and another photoshoot!
In the very near future we're going to give a Facebook Live a go! We'll give you dates for that very soon. Another out of my comfort zone thing but nothing ventured nothing gained! The little product videos I do often take several takes so going live should be interesting. We will also be hosting more evening events very soon so keep an eye out for those too!
Thank you again for supporting Willow & Nutmeg on our journey. If it wasn't for all of you we wouldn't be here doing what we love.
